Summary
The Business Analyst role collaborates with other LifeLock departments and uses analytics skills to solve business problems of moderate scope and to deliver insights that enable operational decision making. This role receives general direction and guidance from management and lead analysts but is expected to exercise sound judgement within defined procedures and practices in selecting analysis methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to determine appropriate action.
Responsibilities
* Works to improve knowledge of company products, business processes, and life cycles and demonstrates a detail-oriented yet broad understanding of corporate objectives (i.e. “able to see the forest from the trees”) * Translates business problems and questions into analysis requirements and gathers data from multiple sources to complete the analysis * Works on analytic problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requites a review of a variety of factors to understand customer experience including: behaviors, touch points and drivers * Contributes to larger multi-phase team analysis projects and studies and performs ad-hoc analytical support when required * Creates reports and data visualizations to support analyses that explain business trends and key drivers (i.e. the “what” and “why”) * Develops and produces weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics reports for senior management to answer key business questions * Efficiently and accurately prepares data for analysis while maintaining quality control of final deliverables * Queries data and writes SQL scripts when necessary to extract customer insights
Ideal Candidate
* A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience, or 4 + years of related experience with a high school degree or GED * Self-motivated and directed while a positive, strong team player and problem-solver * Ability to interpret and analyze small to moderate size datasets and create analytic reports * Strong business writing and verbal communication skills * Advanced level of proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, functions, etc.) * Familiarity with SQL use for reporting * A desire to experiment, grow and learn new ways to explore and handle data * Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills * Prior work experience in a fast-paced environment as a member of an analytics team **Preferred Qualification:** * Prior experience using Tableau (or other comparable tools) to create visual data presentations * Prior experience with Business Objects * Knowledge of relational databases and data warehouse principles * Basic knowledge of statistics (e.g., multivariate statistics, predictive modeling, controlled test design)
