Responsibilities
* Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during * Manage the plant Quality Control staff to ensure compliance with all quality criteria, create and/or maintain and manage * appropriate paper/electronic documentation. * Advise production management of pending issues, new regulations, etc., in a timely manner. * Develop and institute training programs for Quality Control staff and production management staff to ensure these * employees have current information in regards to new regulations. * Participate in R&D projects for design implementation and audit programs. * Additional Job Functions: * Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science related field Advanced Degree preferred. * 3-5 years of progressively responsible management of quality issues in a food processing industry with a broad range of * experience with USDA. * Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, SPC, and SSOP’s. Must have the ability to make sound judgment and good decisions * regarding quality and wholesomeness of product. * Must be detailed oriented. Have strong mathematical and analytical aptitude. * Proficient use of PC including Excel, Word, Access, and Power point. * Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work with minimum direction. * Excellent verbal and communication skills. Must be able to stand for prolong periods of time on concrete/metal grate floor. * Able to work flexible hours. * Reliable transportation in order to attend off-site meetings. Ability to travel due to business needs. * Able to prioritize/adjust quickly to changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing plant needs. * Strong Leadership. Managerial Skills and the ability to coach and develop employees.
