Responsibilities
**Job Summary:** The Director of Valuations/Broker Networks will be responsible for leading a small team of commercial real estate professionals. This team will use a variety of resources and methods to determine relative value of real estate collateral being pledged to assist FirstCity appropriately value the debt that is secured by the real estate collateral. **Major Duties and Responsibilities:** * Manage the ordering and production of valuations for debt acquisitions and asset management. * Prioritize valuations based on portfolio timing * Order third-party BPOs and inspections as necessary to perform proper due diligence for loan acquisitions * Assist asset managers with dispositions and property management as necessary * Perform valuations on all real property types as part of the debt-acquisition process

**Desired Skills:** * Real Estate and Appraisal Processes – Thorough understanding of the commercial real estate market and appraisal process * Conceptual Thinking – Ability to apply different real estate concepts to a variety of property types (Retail, multi-family, single-family, hotels, office, industrial, special purpose, land, etc.) * Real Estate Financing – Strong background in real estate financing with ability to collect relevant financial data from multiple sources and synthesize to interpret for use in making investment decisions * Passion – Ability to display passion about commercial real estate & commercial loan servicing industry * Leadership – Effective management of internal staff and National Broker Networks * Relationship/Interpersonal Skills - Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and external networks * Customer Orientation - Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding stakeholder expectations * Energy – Consistently maintaining high levels of activity or productivity; sustaining long working hours when necessary; operating with vigor, effectiveness, and determination over extended periods of time. Able to work in fast-paced environment * Communication – Communicate clearly, proactively, and concisely with direct reports and key stakeholders * Financial Analysis – Strong Financial Analyst and modeling skills to collect data from multiple sources and synthesize to interpret relevant facts/data **Education/Experience Required:** * Minimum of 7+ years of commercial real estate experience (preferably with several property types) and the ability to leverage professional networks throughout the national Brokerage community * Bachelor’s degree in real estate, economics, business, business management or similar field required * Experience in commercial loan servicing preferred but not required **Licenses / Certifications desired, but not required:** * Real Estate Sales License * Real Estate Appraisal Certificate
