* Plans, organizes, and monitors the distribution and/or production processes of gases. Ensures a smooth and consistent filling/distribution operation so gas and cylinders are distributed to internal and external customers in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Also they may supervise employees in a safe, compliant production and/or distribution work environment; assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This manager will be required to ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA guidelines, FDA, CGA, NFPA and CFR and implement actions as well.
* The differentiating factor/s between the various supervisory levels is dependent on the location and its function and scope. The differentiating factor between the P/D Process Manager's role and that of the P/D Process Supervisor is also one of scope and authority. A manager would be working with more trucks, filling processes, and definitely dealing directly with all employee situation and issues. The Manager would have a greater volume of cylinders and sales level to support. To be eligible for this function and level the responsibility of an incumbent must meet 5 of 7 Primary duties areas with percentages equaling 100% in the categories below.
* They may have some direct supervision of employees reporting to them but they would work in concert with the overall general management person in dealing with any employee situations, needs, or issues. Their involvement and authority with employees is dependent on their experience level in this area
* Employee Management: Ensures effective employee relations. May direct or gives input in directing employees' work through establishing clear work expectations and objectives, monitoring, and evaluating all employees. Provides or gives input for employee coaching and development. Makes or gives input on employment decisions hiring/firing. Resolves or assists in employee issues through problem resolution. Handles or participates in discipline when necessary. Tracks absenteeism and time keeping for payroll. Schedules employee assignments.
* Production/Distribution Managment: Supervise and monitor Production area overseeing filling, pumping, testing and distribution. Develop work schedules and assign worker responsibilities. Ensures the "back of the house", supports al customer service and sales efforts by keeping productivity high, controlling costs, reinforcing safety efforts and encouraging morale to achieve positive results. Work to contiuously improve processes in all areas. Provide recommendations for increase department efficiency or cost reduction initiatives. Coordinates regular inventory count of full cylinders. Prepares orders to replace stock and complete purchasing of authorized components. Assists with shipping and receiving responsibilities; Schedules all equipment use and maintenance.
* Financial Reporting and Monitoring: Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to MAM, CSM, FGM, or Plant Mgr. (where applicable)
* Location Planning: Gives input into the location operating and budget planning effort; assists in the development and monitoring of department work plans, goals, and budgets. (where applicable)
* Safety: Maintains all safety records, ensures required safety training is completed ensures all license and paperwork are in compliance; performs accident investigations implement corrective action when necessary.
* Hand's-on work: Perform operations duties when required including filling, loading and unloading of trucks, bar coding, pumping and servicing customers; assists in counter support-selling, handling customer service issues, whenever the CSM may need help, coordinates manpower and schedules to support positive customer relations (where applicable).
* Facilities management and safety: Assists in building and grounds maintenance activities; Insures proper housekeeping of assigned work areas; maintains safe storage of products and insure compliance with OSHA, DOT and other regulatory requirements.
