Responsibilities
* Demonstrate mastery of the quote, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac methodology for building up Proforma income and expenses. * Demonstrate mastery of Part III of the DUS Guide and periodic updates on an on-going basis in order to cultivate continuous improvement. * Conduct site visits to assess the condition and quality of multifamily projects, their management, and their marketplaces. * Review third-party Appraisals, Engineering Reports, Seismic Reports, Phase I Environmental Assessments and Operations and Maintenance (O & M) Reports where necessary to assist the underwriting teams. * Craft accurate and analytical narratives for submission to Chief Underwriter with minimal supervision from Chief and Deputy Chief Underwriters. * Conduct periodic File Reviews for members of the team, as assigned. * Review narratives for members of the underwriting team prior to submission to the Chief Underwriter. * Demonstrate responsibility for ensuring that the underwriting goals and initiatives are completed in a timely manner and needed resources are available to accomplish results. * Work with Asset Management, Production, Closing and others as appropriate to closely monitor the performance and help develop and regularly refine benchmarks and metrics for evaluating the performance of the portfolio. * Develop a specialty within the multifamily field (Bond Financing, Section 42 Affordable Housing, Seniors Housing, Manufactured Housing, Student Housing, Military Housing, Market Research,) and provide internal training in area of specialization. * Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Education Required** * Bachelors or better. **Experience Required** * At least 2 years of direct supervisory responsibility. * Demonstrated leadership with evidence of increasing responsibility throughout career history. * Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in underwriting * Minimum of 5 years work experience in commercial real estate with strong exposure to multifamily and extensive knowledge of the Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac Program Plus programs.
