Summary
Ensures the integrity of accounting information and provides analytical services for transmission and substation projects.
Responsibilities
* Performs general accounting and contract administration activities; Creates, monitors and closes out Transmission and Substation construction contracts work closely with Project Management, Construction Management, Grid Management, and Supply Chain; Creates Requests for Proposals & monitors the bidding process. * Maintains confidential information regarding contractor bids, and time & material cost sheets. Uses good judgment. Continually updates Contractor contact information and vendor payment information. * Utilizes Contract Management database to track project costs and contract status. Prepares cost comparison of vendor rates to judge cost effectiveness of competitive contractors. Reviews vendor invoices for contract compliance by verifying accuracy of charges for time and equipment, or adherence to bid proposals. * Creates cost reports analyzing department's liability and publish monthly contract balance and contract tracking reports (expenditures within 90% of contract ceiling, within 30 days of the contract end work date, and contracts written on projects which are more than 120 days past the in-service date). * Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects related to capital projects (Accruals, RU's, etc). Facilitate the close out of projects by analyzing the accuracy of total projects costs and completing the in-service notification, which is utilized by Transmission Planning and System Agreement Administrator. Analyzes projects to detect erroneous charges, creates journal entries when necessary to correct budget and establishes variance explanations * Reports results and problematic findings to management in order find resolutions to outstanding issues. **Additional Responsibilities:** As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum education required of the position** High School Diploma; Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting or other related fields, or the equivalent work experience. **Minimum experience required of the position** * Accountant-Associate- Previous related work experience preferred * Accountant-Associate Sr-5 years of Business Accounting or Office management experience required.
Compensation and Working Conditions
Annual Pay $39,000 - $74,500
