Accountant

This position is responsible for essential accounting processes primarily focusing on cash for the Feed and Winfield business segments, accounting for Feed subsidiaries, Winfield counter sales, and various other general accounting areas supporting the Feed business segment. The position will have exposure to various other finance functions including Treasury, Cash Applications, and Accounts Payable.

Duties of this position include managing the month end close process by preparing journal entries; preparing monthly reconciliations; analyzing balance sheet accounts to ensure proper financial reporting; working with various business segments to research and resolve issues; ensuring timely resolution to reconciliation items; and various other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Experience-Education (Required): Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 2 years of experience in related field

Competencies-Skills (Required): Ability to learn new concepts quickly, especially computer applications. Ability to work under deadlines and shift emphasis when required. Must have strong technical skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required. Effective trouble-shooting, problem resolution skills and the ability to drive process improvement are essential. Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and have strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to use Microsoft Excel and ERP Systems.

Competencies-Skills (Preferred): Experience with JDE ERP systems, Hyperion- Essbase, business intelligence tools and advanced Excel skills
