Summary
Responsible for understanding the system scope and project objectives to achieve project needs through matrix management and collaboration with resource, process, and budget management. This position will interface with all areas affected by the project including project stakeholders, consultants / vendors, and internal Emerson groups including but not limited to groups within other business units or Corporate IT. Overall objective is to ensure that projects are successful in achieving their business objectives and are delivered on time, on budget, and with minimal business disruption.
Responsibilities
* Ability to manage multiple projects. * Manage the business sponsorship expectations, understanding business drivers and, when required, negotiate changes to project scope, timing, or resources to ensure that strategic solutions are delivered. * Develops and executes detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, status reports, issue and risk management procedures, and reporting to executive leadership (Steering Committee). * Responsible for following project management processes and methodologies within overall IT Project Lifecycle (ITPLC) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. * Effectively monitor project risks, employing mitigation strategies as appropriate. * Work with the ETC IT team and business representatives to identify the appropriate resources needed, assemble the project team, assign individual responsibilities, and develop a schedule to ensure timely completion of the project. * Ensures that the project team roles and project expectations are clearly communicated to all stakeholders including business subject matter experts and end users. * Manages the project team effectively, demonstrating the ability to coach, mentor and positively influence others, proving timely feedback to individuals and resource managers.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **Education** * Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) with technical background (MIS, Software Engineering, etc.) * PMI or PMP certification required * Master’s degree a plus * Fluent in English **Knowledge / Skills / Experience** * 7 – 10 years’ experience in technology, business management and / or project leadership * 5+ years project management experience * Demonstrated ability to implement medium to large sized projects and moderately to highly complex applications. * Excellent project management skills, including the ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously, and experience in managing cross-functional teams. * Experience in managing using waterfall project methods and agile project methods with a deep level of understanding of both methods * Strong experience managing in a matrix environment. * Excellent communication skills, including strong presentation / communications / facilitation skills (oral and written). * Innovative, flexible, and adaptable. * Excellent understanding of IT environments / technologies. * Results oriented, detailed and analytical with the ability to lead others. * Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, conflict, and negotiation skills. * Able to work in a team environment. * Strong systems implementation skills including requirement / process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, and support. * Substantial experience and expertise wit use of project planning software, such as Microsoft Project. * Project Management experience with Oracle, or large ERP systems a plus.
