Software Test Engineer Team Lead

Provide testing support for highly complex testing projects. Perform as a test SME and provide guidance to software test engineers in all areas of test activities. Ensure quality standards are met for assigned projects. Investigate and recommend test process improvements. Assign all projects to onshore and offshore resources.

• Perform sizing activities for all new projects
• Work with Director to determine team bandwidth as it relates to each new release
• Assign and/or work with onshore coordinator to assign all release related CRs and defects to on and offshore team members
• Represent Tandem Test team at all critical meetings including High Impact and Defect Review meetings
• Be the primary SME for critical issues including Sev events
• Help to determine proper resources for critical release exceptions
• Provide analysis and testing support to project teams for highly complex features
• Provide ongoing evaluation of current processes and provide feedback for potential areas of improvement
• Work independently on all tasks providing guidance to other project team members as needed
• Perform in the role of SME in assigned areas (technical, business, process, etc.)
• Organize and develop implementation strategies for new or improved process initiatives
• Effectively communicate (written and verbal) ideas and strategies at all levels of the organization
• Define and implement industry standard software test/development metrics to support department test efforts
• Lead test resources and activities when required

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of experience in software testing with at least 2 in a lead role
• Strong knowledge of and experience with RDBMS concepts, SQL, Oracle and/or SQL Server
• Very strong knowledge in software process (SDLC, Rational, IEEE, CMM, etc.)
• Very strong problem resolution, negotiating and decision-making skills
• Proficient in one or more testing tools such as Quality Center, Silk Performer, Rational Performance Studio, etc.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills required
• Project management skills
