The Database Administrator is responsible for designing, managing, administering, documenting, and providing technical and strategic support for business-critical database systems. He/she leverages senior-level experience to provide database-related technical support, database design, and data modeling to meet client objectives and/or Targetbase product needs.
- Accountable for ensuring client databases run efficiently
- Designs the information architecture for client specific databases and data marts and documents via data modeling – leverages knowledge of core database to provide detailed core data models maintained in ERwin
- Designs new databases – in addition to core database builds, leverages the appropriate methodologies to design Star Schemas for analytics and reporting
- Designs the implementation of ETL mappings using Informatica 8 or an equivalent tool
- Builds, adds, modifies, and deletes database tables
- Supports production teams with ad hoc database support requests
- Proactively monitors client database spaces to ensure appropriate allocations as environments grow
- Consults with client teams on data analysis, campaigns, and reporting projects
- 80% MS SQL DBA job duties and 20% Oracle DBA job duties

Experience & Education
- 3+ years of experience and knowledge of designing, managing, developing, and documenting data warehouses and data marts
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or IIS
Knowledge & Ability
- SQL – DBA; PL/SQL; SQL*Plus; Reports; SQL Server MSSQL preferred
- ETL experience required (Informatica 8 – Data Quality, Data Explorer, Cleanse and Match is a plus)
- Erwin
- CIS experience preferred
- Star schemas; snowflake schemas
- Data Warehouse methodology
- Data solutions in an Azure environment
- ODBC
- Unix platforms, Windows, and .NET platforms
- Java, Perl, XML, C, C#, HTML, DHTML
- Unix shell scripting
- MS Office suite, Visio, and Project
- Network knowledge
- Project management skills
