Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will assist in managing the human resources services, including staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, information systems, organizational development, training and immigration.
Responsibilities
* Serve as direct liaison with immigration counsel and coordinate with employees and managers for a heavy immigration caseload including H-1B, J-1, L-1, and B-1 visas and PERM processing * Maintain data quality of employee records: updating and auditing multiple databases and spreadsheets and running monthly reports * Manage employee relations and assist with all questions in regards to benefits, systems, company programs and policies * Prepare separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews * Assist with leaves of absences and prepare all required documentation in compliance with current regulations * Support payroll administration, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and according to HR policies. Assist finance and accounting staff with payroll changes and reporting as needed * Assist with stock plan administration and employee communication for a unique equity program * Complete all required audits and reporting (EEO-1, 401(k), etc.) * Provide backup support for new hire orientations: conduct new hire meetings; process new hire forms; set up Workday profiles; and coordinate new hire training as needed * Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying on top of existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements; advise management on needed actions * Assist with creating and implementing programs to attract and retain employees * Ad hoc projects depending on needs of Human Resources team * Assist with office events/operations as needed
Ideal Candidate
* 4+ years of HR experience preferred * Minimum of 2 years of experience managing immigration and visa cases * Bachelor's degree required * Proficient with Microsoft Office; particularly with Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Workday experience is a plus * Good understanding of CA labor laws, particularly for the city of San Francisco * Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and determine priorities without supervision * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Prior experience with working in fast-paced startup environment is a plus * You are constantly striving to learn and grow beyond your job responsibilities - you’re curious, intelligent and ambitious * Superb organization skills with a proactive nature * Progressive work history and excellent references
