Summary
This position is responsible for the administration and oversight of a variety of HR programs and processes at the division headquarters of Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds division.
Responsibilities
* Serves as the first face to the human resources department, promoting the Eaton values and providing courteous and timely service to all employees * Supports divisional focused staffing initiatives, including building and maintaining a successful internship program, diversity and veteran outreach. and serving as a liaison with Eaton University Relations team * Supports the Eaton talent management and organizational effectiveness initiatives in areas such as succession planning, organizational capability reviews, mentorship program, leadership development training, and performance management * May conduct and facilitate training on key HR initiatives and programs * Manages the assignment requests and rotations/assignments of Eaton Leadership Development Program participants * May act as the HR business partner to an assigned employee group by aiding hiring managers during the assessment and selection of talent * Serves as local subject matter expert for employee benefits and payroll questions, coordinating with remote centralized HR service center and payroll teams as necessary, and coordinates benefits enrollment meetings, communications, and processes * Supports various employee relations activities such as supervisory coaching, conducting investigations, and the administration of progressive discipline * Partners with HR leaders in providing support to various functional leaders, including finance, sales, operations, engineering, and marketing, in both analytical or strategic HR matters * Generates and analyzes regular and ad-hoc reports for regulatory, budgeting, and auditing purposes * Facilitates and participates in company-wide committees in support of the overall Eaton goals, such as wellness and community involvement * Partners with Eaton legal and outside counsel to ensure work VISAs and applications are processed and maintained in a timely and compliant manner * Coordinates and administers new employee orientation to ensure a positive new hire experience * Facilitates the end employment process for both voluntary and involuntary separations * Processes patent award payments via payroll for engineering * Prepares and distributes HR related communications * Updates and maintains HR policies and procedures * Provides tactical and strategic support as needed to the Syracuse plant and Electrical Products business unit. * Facilitates the administration of fleet vehicle usage with Leaseplan.
Ideal Candidate
* Proficient in project management * High level of proficiency with MS Office products/database management skills * Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality * Organized and efficient * Self-directed and able to investigate and implement solutions with limited guidance or direction * High degree of comfort navigating ambiguous situations and ability to quickly shift focus as priorities change * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Demonstrates professionalism and a service oriented personality with all levels of employees and senior leaders * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean work environment * Strong teamwork and collaborative skills * Demonstrated ability and desire to progress to more senior levels of the Human Resources function **Basic Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required * Minimum 3 years of work experience in a Human Resources capacity * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship * No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates currently residing within a 50 mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources from an accredited institution * Previous experience working in a Human Resources capacity in a corporate manufacturing environment
