Summary
This role is a part of the product sales team to grow and build the business with new strategic content opportunities. The main focus areas are: 1) working with editorial to develop new ideas for Bannered Edit and Journal Reports - digital & print 2) sales outreach to teams/clients/categories across the globe 3) ownership of product revenue & operations. This position partners with the Director of Strategic Content to work across the organization (sales, editorial, tech, corporate marketing and top management) to enhance existing print/digital products and create new content for advertisers. This role will have a special focus developing and selling digital ideas by exploring new concepts for Journal Reports and Bannered Edit.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for all Bannered Edit (start to finish) developing concepts with news, selling to AEs & advertisers, and tracking revenue * Weekly updates with editorial to discuss content ideas and programs * Journal Report – content ideation, annual calendar development * Responsible for recurring bannered features and one-off features such as: Davos, Elections, Olympics, Ryder Cup, Aviation Air Shows etc. * Main point for JR news team for content and layouts * Run Journal Report and Bannered Edit position availability * Maintain existing JR and Bannered Edit clients * Prospect new clients for various content developments, generate leads through content trends * Communicate and follow up with internal departments regarding ads booked to ensure timely process. * Revenue tracking and reporting to top management * Manage and develop new Journal Repot digital offerings * Manage JR digital placements when live through DFP * Attend print and digital industry events and functions representing WSJ Strategic Content * Attend sales calls with respective teams for Strategic Content * Run layouts for all strategic content * Conduct content research and special projects * Work with Product Marketing to create Strategic Content sales materials * Provide sales teams with materials and information for sales calls and RFP responses
Ideal Candidate
* 2+ years’ experience in advertising sales support preferred * Responsive, with attention to detail and strong written and communication skills * Articulate and intelligent, with strong presentation skills * Candidates must possess initiative, be detail oriented, and able to work independently and within a team environment * Organized and focused on priorities that move the sales process forward * Creative thinker who can match marketer's goals with the unique, affluent audiences available through our media properties * College degree required * Proven ability to work well within a team environment while accomplishing individual projects * Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications * Strong interpersonal skills * Strong familiarity with print and digital media * Strong familiarity with Microsoft, Salesforce and Google cloud applications
