Summary
The Licensing Sales Support Specialist is the first point of contact for licensing prospects which may include new customers or existing licensees looking to add additional Dolby licenses. Works closely with licensing applicants, Sales, Legal, IP Protection, and Finance to gather and assess information needed to process new licensing applications. Works closely with IT Business Systems to improve and streamline licensing workflow functionality. Also works closely with licensees, Finance, and IT to assist customers with royalty statements and reporting in the Dolby Reporting Portal (DRP).
Responsibilities
* Support the Americas team by being the point person to assess customer needs and information for non-key accounts by following the business assessment process and working with licensing applicants directly * Monitor all Licensing mailboxes to initiate and process inquiries from prospective licensees. Route inquiry information to appropriate Sales Operations contact or Account Manager. Follow up with companies receiving information and assist them during the licensing application process. * Train licensees on the Dolby Reporting Portal (DRP) and help them trouble-shoot issues if they are experiencing difficulty submitting their royalty statement. * Train customers on the Dolby Product Registration Portal when they need to submit a new product to Dolby for testing. * Follow up with licensees who have not reported their quarterly royalty statement. Help them work through any technical or legal agreement issues that are preventing them from reporting. * Proactively work with Business Systems to identify and implement refinements and improvements in the licensing workflow processes in Salesforce and Apttus (contract lifecycle management system). Create and use reports in Salesforce to monitor licensing application status and progress. Goal is to streamline the licensing application as much as possible while meeting business needs to vet applicants appropriately. * Assist the Sales team with Salesforce data to help maintain the data and to train account managers on how they can update the data in Salesforce. * Responsible for processing and managing all 3rd party applications. * Coordinate with Legal Operations, IP Protection, Finance, and the Account Manager to resolve any licensing sales related issues. * Document key licensing application procedures so that these can be understood by new employees and others within the organization. Establish these standard operating procedures (SOPs) where necessary. Cross train with others on the Americas Sales Operations team as well as backup support for the Global Sales Operations team. * Point person for all incoming customer-facing processes. Must be able to direct potential customers to the proper portals and tools to make their experience streamlined and easy. **Other Responsibilities:** * Liaise with other Dolby groups and regions where necessary. * Attend and contribute to sales and key business meetings. * Develop the necessary understanding of Company’s licensed technologies and licensing procedures. * Perform other ad hoc duties as required by management.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor degree or above in a technical or business field * Working knowledge of licensing business * 5 years working experience in sales support/operations preferred. * Experience in a software or IP company preferred. * Require strong operational experience and software skills, including CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.com. **Personal Attributes:** * An interest in entertainment, technology, music and cinema would be an advantage. * Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. * Customer service skills. * Good organizational skills. * Attention to detail and accuracy. * Strong analytical skills and process orientation. * Flexibility in a versatile business environment. * Be capable to work independently and manage a variety of tasks that involve setting priorities, researching, and solving problems. * Ability to be proactive, work on own initiative, to deadlines, as well as being able to work as a member of a small but dynamic team. * Willingness to work outside normal office hours (when required).
