Summary
The Engineering Manager works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required. A commitment to carrying out the Company’s Policies is required. An employee in this position must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and other employees. The Engineering Manager provides leadership and support to department of maintenance, process engineering, and manufacturing engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include: Developing and implementing department strategies, policies, procedures, budget and goals. Implements, monitors and controls capital programs. This position requires a fully seasoned professional with a thorough knowledge of engineering principles and theories and their application. The Engineering Manager pursues projects, which are complex in nature and require unique and innovative solutions. They usually involve interaction with other disciplines or may require a high level of specialized expertise. **Project Management** - Through subordinates, maintain, improve and control facility security (physical and environmental). Implementation of all capital investments associated with the existing physical facility and equipment. **Process Improvement** – Continuously improve existing processes or create new ones that support operations and engineering functions and drive the facility toward optimal efficiency utilizing WCM methodology. Select and implement new projects and technology to support these processes improvements through Industrial Efficiency Pillar Activities. **Personnel Development**: Provide training, experiential opportunities and regular feedback for product designers, application engineers and other team members which allow them the best opportunities for personal and professional growth. Develop new employees to meet the needs of the business as it is today and what is needed to maintain a competitive edge in the future. Set individual objectives, develop metrics in harmony with strategic objectives and ensure team members have the tools needed for successful implementation of objectives. **Quoting/Costing**: Oversee quoting process for new products. Work with other departments to ensure completion and accuracy through entire process.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline * 5-7 Years of personnel management, technology implementation, project management * Ability to mentor and develop workforce. Organize motivate and guide team to reach objectives. Provide feedback and advice.
