Summary
the Sales Engineer (SE) provides technical expertise and knowledge during the sales process in order to help a sales team close business. Due to their trusted-advisor status, SEs can be an invaluable resource in understanding the dynamics within a buyer’s decision team, and often have insights a sales team does not. The Brainshark Sales Engineer works on the front lines with the sales team to position Brainshark products and services and deliver a comprehensive solution that can address a client’s specific business goals and objectives. The SE provides analysis and insight in the early stages of the sales process, helping to discover key client business drivers and assess the current client landscape and technology ecosystem. Additionally, the Sales Engineer will present customized product demonstrations, architect solution packages based on client required capabilities and positive business outcomes, and prepare proposals that outline recommended solutions. The SE will also provide company and customer community thought leadership in regard to breakthrough ideas and approaches to sales productivity challenges.
Responsibilities
* Help qualify early-stage opportunities and assist reps and the pursuit team in making go/no-go decisions * Understand a buyer’s required capabilities, current technical environment and needs, and whether the buyer has a “set” approach in mind (also known as pre-ordained need) * Work collaboratively internally and externally to scope an appropriate solution for a buyer * Respond to the technical requirements of an RFP * Demonstrate/present the capabilities of the Brainshark solution set in accordance with a buyer’s required capabilities and positive business outcomes * Transition knowledge/relationships to an implementation/solution director team * Assist in field marketing activities (e.g. staffing a trade show booth)
Ideal Candidate
* trong presenter, both in person and virtually * Extensive knowledge of Brainshark technologies, processes and best practices * Demonstrated skill set to understand a client’s technology ecosystem and sales methodology, and uncover and analyze key business challenges and drivers * Ability to architect a solution from concept to completion * Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking and problem solving skills * Adaptability and flexibility including ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change * Negotiating skills within a context of political sensitivity and conflicting interests * Work in a collaborative environment across cross-functional teams * High levels of self-motivation/discipline and effective time management skills * Ability to consult or provide guidance on complex matters to non-specialists; ability to communicate effectively with senior management/C-level **Background, Experience and Education** * Bachelor’s degree or higher; minor or advanced degree in business * 3-5 years of solution development/technical/engineering experience * 3-5 years direct enterprise sales or other custom facing experience preferred * Contextual knowledge of the Salesforce CRM platform * Expertise in the Sales Enablement/Sales Productivity space
