Summary
To develop, implement and administrate all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and programs. Assist in compliance with all federal, state and local Environmental, Health and Safety regulations. Provide technical support to EHS facility staff, R&D;, and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, manage and/or ensure compliance to applicable Environmental, Health and Safety regulatory requirements. * Evaluate and act upon new EHS Regulations. * In collaboration with management, assist in developing and implementing site policies concerning EHS issues. * Provide non-routine problem solving for engineering, R&D; and manufacturing groups. * Provide management assistance in maintaining ISO 140001/ OHSAS 18001 certified status and setting goals/targets for all EHS programs having significant impact. * Provide assistance with pollution prevention and waste minimization activities. * Provide assistance in the negotiation and development of EHS service contracts. * Coordinate, perform and/or assist in IH monitoring. * Coordinate/participate in corporate/facility Environment, Health and Safety Management Systems audits. * Prepare and/or assist with composing agency (e.g. EPA), corporate and divisional reports. * Provide required, specialized training to Baxalta employees. * Lead Emergency Response Team efforts
Ideal Candidate
* Must hold a registered professional certification in the environmental or safety field (i.e., CSP, CIH, CHMM). Alternately, the incumbent must become certified within one year of employment. * Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene fields with specific concentration in EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations. * Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene fields with specific concentration in EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations. * M.S. degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Technology or related field (6-8 years of advanced experience may be substituted)
