Responsibilities
The Field Operations Manager is responsible for achieving goals in regards to premium persistency, cross-selling, and budgeting. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales Office Operations. Achieves Goals * Manage existing block of business to ensure target premium retention / persistency goals set each year. Responsible for coaching team to manage individual offices to persistency goals. * Set individual and office cross sell goals. Coach and monitor results through consistent updates with individuals on monthly basis. * Develop collaborative relationships and partnerships with VPs and Sales Managers within region. * Partner with Sales Manager, Sales Reps, Employee Benefit Advisor’s (EBA), Strategic Benefit Advisor’s (SBA) to create and manage annual service plans for all enforce accounts. * Partner with Customer Advocacy to share resources and responsibility towards a common goal. * Partner with Benefit Communication leadership on all Enrollment and Re-Enrollment collaboration. * Initiate and facilitate conference calls and other forms of communication to maintain internal relationships. Leadership * Coach and develop direct reports, which can be geographically dispersed, to reach their maximum potential within their assigned roles. * Set clear expectations of staff through office meetings and one on one updates. * Conduct ride-alongs with staff based on agreed upon criteria set by manager (attend customer meetings for enrollments, installations, renewals). * Manage to a stated office and expense budget for self and direct reports. * Monitor delivery of customer service model within region to maximize customer satisfaction, growth, and premium persistency. * Monitor, track and provide feedback to SBA and EBA’s regarding comp and goal attainment on a monthly basis during individual updates. * Monitor track and provide feedback to Office Coordinator’s (OC) regarding office goals, role responsibility and support. * Attend and participate in all management meetings and conference calls. * Track metrics related to compensation and performance via electronic reporting. * Develop team environment by clearly communicating office and individual goals. * Create consistency across all offices through communication and partnerships with all Field Operations Managers. * Visit brokers or policyholders as needed to facilitate escalated service issues. * Screen, interview and select candidates for open support staff positions in conjunction with Vice President, Sales Operations and HR. * Manage all SBA, EBA, and OC’s by providing feedback as well as facilitating training and development for staff on products, processes and systems. * Conduct performance evaluations and update ATM (Assurant Talent Manager) for SBA, EBA, and OC’s. Projects * Take part in committees, special projects, and other strategic initiatives as necessary to support the vision and growth of the Company.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum Qualifications * 2+ years of management experience in a professional corporate setting. * Licensed in Life and Health insurance or will obtain license within 2 months of hire date (for all states in which the FOM has direct reports). * Ability to travel minimum of a 65%. * Demonstrate effective leadership style that can be successful with large, geographically dispersed teams. * Strong data analysis and multi-tasking skills. * Ability to coach staff to drive performance improvements. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor’s Degree * Insurance industry knowledge, specifically working in the employee benefit space in a role that involves conducting performance evaluations and dealing with personnel issues, and working experience in an account management field. * Experience in implementing process and system improvement plans.
