Summary
The Risk and Compliance Analyst is positioned in the first line of defense to assist the Risk and Compliance Department in establishing and monitoring a company-wide risk management and governance framework. The position will assist in ensuring that effective processes and controls are in place to mitigate risks, facilitating risk and compliance remediation, identifying control failures or weaknesses, and assessing if the Company is operating in compliance with its policies and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the Analyst will manage activities to ensure compliance with certain enterprise governance programs sponsored by USAA, including administration of various risk/compliance tools and applications. The position will manage and track identified issues, often coordinating across departments to facilitate completion. Finally, the Analyst will coordinate reviews, audits and exams with USAA and regulators, including informational requests.
Responsibilities
* Proactively identifies opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment. * Assists in managing and monitoring the Company’s Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program and performs testing within the program as needed. * Participates with process owners to update controls and designs tests to assess controls of new processes or programs. * Manages the BWise system for RealCo by entering control tests, new controls, and monitoring new issues/action plans in the USAA database system. * Manages RealCo’s User Developed Application (UDA) and Modeling governance programs with USAA. * Tracks new audit or assessment issues and action plan timelines. * Assists in the administration of the RealCo’s training program through USAA’s Learning Management System (LMS). * Assists in the preparation and/or annual review of Company policies and procedures. * Assists in quarterly stress testing as needed. * Coordinates information requests from USAA or regulators. * Assists the RealCo Treasury function with tests of controls and security reviews. * Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications:** * Bachelor's Degree in a related business field. * 2+ year’s experience in an accounting, compliance or audit role. * Experience in documenting controls, policies, procedures or processes. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Commercial Real Estate experience. * 1+ years of public accounting experience. * Audit, process improvement, or change management experience. * CPA, CIA or CCSA certification. **Physical Requirements:** * Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to stand, walk, and use business equipment daily such as computer, copier, fax, telephone, etc.; frequently required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 25 lbs. * Ability to handle stress caused by multiple priorities, and other unforeseen situations associated with the organization. * Eyesight and hearing must be correctable to standard level.
