Summary
This role works closely with senior administration, faculty, and staff, ensures data integrity and provides leadership, technical expertise and oversight in the development of assessment initiatives, research reports and data access tools and is responsible for the creation and implementation the next generation of assessment, research and reporting tools for University of Phoenix. The Director must be able to work well in a diverse, collegial, matrixed and consultative team environment. This is a Phoenix-based in-office position. Relocation assistance may be available.
Responsibilities
* Provides leadership and manages a program of research. Analyzes accurate, timely, and relevant data for internal use, mandatory federal reports and external agencies and reporting designed to support University-wide planning, budgeting, academic program assessment and strategic planning. * Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of reports to external constituents and agencies including US News and World Report, IPEDS, and Military Times. * Maintains Institutional Research reporting calendar of all mandated and scheduled reporting responsibilities including NPS management and the Academic Annual Report * Provides comprehensive data support for the University and Schools/Colleges and prepares executive and board-level data analysis and presentations. * Develops the next generation of dashboard and reporting tools. * Develops and designs surveys to enable student feedback on College services and/or programs. * Leads University efforts to assess student learning including programmatic assessment, assessment of university learning goals, co-curricular assessment and campus-based assessment of student learning by creating consistent processes and tools for use by all stakeholders. * Collects, analyzes, and summarizes University assessment results and produces an annual plan to include programmatic learning outcomes, student satisfactions, and other indicators. * Develops training and professional development strategies for campus personnel, college staff, and faculty in the assessment of student learning. * Creates processes and tools to measure student satisfaction to enhance the impact on the student experience. * Develops and implements processes for continuous quality improvement based on assessment data across the University. * Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * A PhD is required from a regionally accredited institution. (master’s degree plus significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a doctoral degree) * At least five years of experience in a higher education setting, including progressive experience with increasing level of responsibility with supervisory experience. * Experience with student information systems * Extensive data mining and report writing experience. * Experience in interpreting quantitative and qualitative data. * Experience with a wide variety of research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative), statistical analysis and research design. **Additional Qualifications** * Conceptual and innovative thinking skills (i.e. identifying solutions) and analytical thought needed to develop solutions and measurement tools to resolve and document results across a variety of complex situations. * Ability to use judgment based on practice and precedence to select appropriate resources to implement solutions. * Proficient understanding of how own area integrates with the enterprise to develop effective solutions across the variety of university learning platforms. * Project management skills and the ability to train staff. * Must be able to work well in a diverse, collegial, and consultative team environment
