Summary
We are seeking an exceptionally talented leader to use data sciences to redefine the shopping experience for Gift Cards. This leader will be responsible for creating a shopping experience specific to a customer's needs based on their past actions and expected future actions, making Amazon the most convenient place to buy a gift for any occasion. The leader will be responsible for identifying content strategies, customer segmentation, and effective marketing channels to drive new customer acquisition as well as driving repeat purchases throughout the customer lifecycle. The leader will have very strong statistical and predictive modelling capabilities, be comfortable with SQL, have strong analytic skills, and have a passion for using data to drive business results. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, have an inquisitive mind that finds surprising needles in haystacks of data on a regular basis and someone who would love the opportunity to make a big impact on millions of customers world-wide. Beyond the proficiency with data analytics, a successful candidate will have experience successfully leading teams, developing people, and building a scalable infrastructure. This person must have strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to influence others and strong cross-functional leadership. This person needs to have good judgment and passion for helping customers discover the right product at the right time.
Responsibilities
* Defining, building, and leading a team of business intelligence and data scientists * Define business requirements for new features including personalized Gift Card store experience * Develop tools or widgets that surface content based on customers past purchases or site actions, i.e., custom content for customers who want the quickest send, repeat purchase, etc. * Personalize content based on upcoming events and gifting occasions * Offer customers the promotions that they are most likely to utilize and automate reporting to facilitate promotion management * Showcase the designs most relevant to customers by optimizing tools for managing design selection, enabling algorithms to surface designs of high relevance, scaling third party creative content, etc. * Innovate and implement test and learn strategies, implement ongoing improvements and invest in areas that drive scalable results * Own key business metrics, support in-depth business reviews and present to senior management * Partner with Product development teams to drive requirements for new products, features or promotions.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in statistics, econometrics, mathematics, or similarly quantitative field from a top university * 5-8+ years relevant experience * 4+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, statistical analysis and predictive modeling * 2+ years of leading teams of research professionals to solve problems with statistical/analytical solutions * Strong SQL skills * Proficiency with at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, or similar) and statistical language (R, SAS, or similar) * Ability to hire, develop and manage a world class team **Preferred Qualifications** * Master's degree or Ph.d in statistics, econometrics, mathematics, or similarly quantitative field from a top university * Machine Learning and Data Mining expertise * Experience with customer segmentation
