Responsibilities
* Prepares and maintains accounting records for an organizational unit. * Provides specialized or general analysis support in various accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cost accounting, property accounting, general accounting, and the like. * Prepares difficult journal entries, maintains complex ledgers, reconciles and analyzes specific cost account ledgers. * Examines, analyzes and interprets accounting records for the purpose of giving advice or preparing statements. * Assists in the development and installation of accounting systems, cost accounting methods, procedures and controls. May establish and maintain property accounting records. * Balances books as required, prepares profit and loss income and balance sheet statements. * Exercises professional judgment to resolve moderately complex accounting problems. * Responds to and investigates issues related to accounting inquiries from other departments. * Prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Practical knowledge of the accounting function required. * Must be computer literate to include standard accounting, spreadsheet and database software. * Good communication skills, both written and verbal required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field required. * Minimum 3 years experience required.
