Staff Accountant

The position will be supporting the Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department in a growing, fast paced company by assisting with month end close process functions, maintaining the General Ledger accounts and business transactions in a manner consistent with US GAAP and company policy.

* Prepare daily, monthly and year-end general journal entries. * Download daily bank activity report and review bank transactions. * Prepare accurate bank reconciliations on a monthly basis. * Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and analysis. Research, resolve discrepancies and book journal entries. * Maintain Pre-paid account schedule, calculate monthly amortization and book monthly journal entry. * Responsible for the accounting of the company’s sundry business unit. * Create promo codes. * Assist with vouchering invoices, wire transfers and ach payments. * Provide year-end audit support. * Assist on special assignment, ad hoc reporting and analysis.

* BS in Accounting * 3 to 5 years experience as Staff Accountant * Experience working in an ERP environment and QAD experience a plus * Strong knowledge of GAAP * Must have strong problem solving , analytical and effective communication skills * Self-motivated, flexible team player who excels in a fast paced growing environment * Highly proficient at managing processes with the ability to coordinate and prioritize * High level experience and competency working with Excel
