Summary
The Business Systems Analyst identifies and articulates business needs, develops requirements to address those needs, and formulates action plans to implement change. Independently manages resulting action plans and related projects to successful completion. Ensures initiatives utilize the expertise of technical resources within AbbVie and from outside vendors. The Business Systems Analyst works with the GCLO Program Manager to drive standardization across the global business environment. Possesses a deep understanding of the business, industry, information systems solutions, and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
* Provide in-depth functional & technical expertise to support application lifecycle management for Discovery compound logistics and operations systems. Serve as a technical expert to drive the development, testing, and implementation of new products or operational improvements. * Apply high-level leadership skills to effectively communicate and manage change. * Independently identify, develop and implement technical solutions which support the business requirements. Accountable for specific deliverables within larger-scale IT development efforts. Be able to manage own workload with minimal direction. * Work with IT management to establish requirements for the implementation of significant changes in business functions and processes. * Promote a collaborative and cooperative team environment. Influence the workload of cross-functional team members and vendors to achieve success. * Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues, and risks will affect projects. Work with management and stakeholders to gain agreement for resolution. * Establish and maintain productive relationships with all levels of AbbVie IT organization and external partners. * Act as a liaison to internal IT organizations to assure successful implementation.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science. * Minimum 3 years of experience in business systems analysis and/or project management. * Complete software development lifecycle experience including requirements definition and analysis, software design, development/coding, and documentation. * High degree of business acumen coupled with technical knowledge. * Excellent relationship management, communication and presentation skills. * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. * Able to relate to a wide range of technical staff, managers and 3rd party service providers. **Preferred:** * Knowledge of terminology, processes, practices and procedures in the healthcare industry. * Proficient in project management practices, finance and budgeting. * Experience working in a global environment. * Excellent technical writing skills.
