Senior Graphics Designer (ID)

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has a combined 130-year history, with roots in companies founded in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The successful candidate will create original artwork and illustrations for a variety of print and multimedia outreach communication materials. The position requires regular collaboration with project managers and other designers and production artists, and client consultation. Occasional travel across southern and central California required. The successful candidate will possess strong, creative graphic design skills and talent for print materials and presentations, and be detail-oriented and organized. They will also possess strong communication skills and must be adept at working in a team environment. The position requires the ability to self-manage tasks on multiple short and long-term projects. Individuals must be articulate, attentive listeners, comfortable with client relations, and able to think outside the boundaries of traditional design.

* Apply graphic design tools and software to develop distinctive, custom presentation templates and graphics to support a variety of print, web and multimedia communications * Autonomously and effectively manage assigned projects within specified timelines * Monitor deliverable schedules, communicates timing issues/delays with manager and internal departments * Proof deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy and aesthetics * Maintain standards on all deliverables and identify, develop and apply best practices * Proven ability to manage and execute against multiple project tasks, and work efficiently against tight deadlines; ability to stay on the edge of the latest technologies and trends in the graphics environment * Anticipate client needs and proactively develop solutions * Prioritize competing deadlines and multi-tasks * Research new software technology and design/development t

* At least five years of industry experience and a Bachelor's degree in graphic design or digital design, visual communications or related study * Experience in PC-based design * High-proficiency in visual layout and design, including Adobe Creative Suite CC, Microsoft Office (Word, and PowerPoint including animation) is required, with experience in videography/photography and video editing, presentation software/tools preferred * Demonstrated design creativity and ability to translate creative ideas to visual displays * High-proficiency in graphic/visual design skills and typography * High-proficiency in Microsoft Office – specifically PowerPoint (animation, media integration) * High-proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; basic proficiency in After Effects and Premiere a plus * Willingness to learn new software (3Ds Studio Max, VRay, Prezzi, After Effects) * Strong oral and written communication skills * Excellent time management skills and the ability to contribute to multiple projects in a team environment * The ability to work in the United States immediately is required
