Responsibilities
Purpose of Position: - Responsible for understanding the competitive market and needs of customers for all aspects of commercial marketing including key marketing tactics, product promotion, pricing, collateral, digital media, web presence, marketing events, contract negotiations, and other related areas. Essential Duties of Position: - 30% Works closely with marketing manager to implement all commercial marketing media, including print, online, email and commercial advertising. - 20% Assists with content development for GCI Commercial on-line web presence and internal knowledgebase system. - 15% Create content for product promotions and all marketing collateral. - 15% Create digital marketing content for internal and external communications. - 10% Assists marketing team with special events and projects when needed. - 10% Assists with development and reporting of marketing and advertising campaigns, including SEO/SEM, Google Analytics and media calendar.
Ideal Candidate
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Strong written and oral communication and public presentation skills. - Demonstrated knowledge of MS office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher) - Knowledge of current SEO/SEM/Google Analytics and best practices. - Proficient with “In Design” and “Adobe” software programs preferred. - Knowledge of CMS systems and social media platforms preferred. - Proven understanding of key marketing principles necessary to analyze the market; introduce plans, programs and promotions to meet market demand. - Knowledge of Cable TV, Internet, Local, Long Distance and Wireless phone and the Alaska telecommunication market preferred - Ability to work in a team and collaborate with others to implement plans and programs. - Ability to work individually to productively complete projects and tasks. - Ability to think strategically. Years of Experience required to meet minimum qualifications: - Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, sales, combined, or similar environment. Level of Education required to meet minimum qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in Marketing or closely related field required or a combination of relevant work experience and education sufficient to perform the duties may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
