Summary
Responsible for overall look and feel of the Vera Bradley web site. Create the final user interface based on wireframes and specifications influenced by the users needs as well as the Vera Bradley brand.
Responsibilities

Leverage a flexible toolkit for unique project needs that may include sketches, detailed mockups, functional prototypes, and polished visual designs. * Participate in discovery and requirements-gathering sessions to understand business needs and user motivations. * Apply data-driven insight provided by data analytics, SEO recommendations and user experience teams to create successful user experience designs that achieve results. * Brainstorm and workshop ideas for translating business requirements into brilliant interfaces and memorable brand experiences, executing visual design that supports brand style and tone. * Apply expert knowledge of modern web design best practices and the latest available tools and resources. * Work closely with Development team leads to ensure designs are systematically structured for content management and responsive design * Responsible for weighing any new feature or content for alignment with the style guide as well as maintaining the site style guide * Collaborate with the Digital and Creative team on promotions and campaigns that meet strategic initiatives and business and branding objectives for verabradley.com
Ideal Candidate
**Education/Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Web/Experience Design, Marketing or Graphic Design with an emphasis on web design, interactive media or equivalent. * 2+ years experience in user experience design, HTML and CSS programming experience, preferably from a retail background **Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:** The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Excellent written, and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels across the organization * Ability to build and maintain good rapport with both internal and external customers to handle situations with confidence and tact * Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, and concurrently manage multiple projects * Flexible, adaptable with the demonstrated ability to work under pressure * Resourceful with ability to make decisions and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment * Understands key business drivers and uses this knowledge in own work * High level of attention to detail with strong follow-through skills * Demonstrates ability to solve a range of problems with the ability to analyze solutions * Strong and flexible capabilities in visual interface, experience, and web design * Ability to write HTML and CSS with a knowledge of Javascript and Content management systems a plus * Technically proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. * Familiarity with capabilities and limitations of current web technologies * The ability to see from the point of view of the user **Environment and Physical Demands:** * The physical demands described here are representative of those an individual must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
