Design Manager

Volusion’s Creative Services team is seeking someone to lead an agency-style team of talented web designers in their quest to produce top-notch design. While the team is an agency structure specializing in custom ecommerce websites, they also contribute to internal company design projects including template, infographic, landing page, webinar and ebook design projects. You will be responsible for maintaining a small work portfolio of client and company design work in addition managing (inspiring) your team.

* Lead a team of designers, ensuring: * Quarterly design department goals are met * Designers feel heard, inspired and empowered * Foster a culture of collaboration, continual learning and creative problem solving * Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiencies and monetization * Design responsive ecommerce websites for a variety of industries with some logo, social media, and mobile design * Work on multiple projects, organize, and manage your time to meet deadlines * Provide design elements, comps, templates, and finished designs * Work with Front-end Web developers to create HTML files and optimized graphics

* 5+ years’ experience in web design * Experience leading a team in either a senior or managerial role * Previous experience in a web design agency is a plus * You have been described as proactive, reliable, helpful, creative, and compassionate * You are resourceful; creative problem solving is second nature to you * BA/BS degree in Interactive design, Communications Design, Graphic Design or a related field preferred * Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) * Knowledge of HTML and CSS is strongly preferred, but not required * Previous experience with a content management system is preferred, but not required * You don’t have to love dogs, but it helps because we do dog Fridays : ) * The right candidate will have a solid web design portfolio, strong creativity, and preferably experience in ecommerce web design. We are looking for a upbeat, proactive individual with creative problem solving skills and a high EQ. You will be leading a team of talented and passionate web designers who like to be creative, work hard, have fun and share their knowledge.
