Responsibilities

We are seeking a Jr. Web and Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital storytelling and creating beautiful, customized web experiences. Not only should this person work well with others, they should also thrive independently — meeting deadlines and be willing to go above and beyond to do what’s best for the project.

- Develop projects for the WordPress platform
- Create, publish, and manage content
- Knowledge of best practices for WordPress performance optimization, search engine optimization, and security
- Responsive and adaptive development for familiar user experiences across devices and platforms
- Create UI designs or convert provided designs into functional web experiences
- Assist in cross-project collaboration to plan and execute web and interactive experiences
- Collaborate in the development of digital strategy, analytics reporting, and social media content, as well as monitoring across multiple properties and projects
- Assist in additional digital-related projects
- Outstanding communication skills, while giving routine, detailed status updates as part of team meetings
- Ability to provide and meet deadlines
- Results-oriented, detail-oriented, and obsessed with efficiency
- An efficient problem solver able to communicate within distributed teams alongside senior developers and project leads
- Awareness of current development, design, and social media trends and technology

HTML – advanced
CSS – advanced, Sass a bonus
PHP – intermediate or higher
JavaScript & jQuery – intermediate or higher
MySQL – intermediate or higher
FTP & Server – working knowledge
SEO/Analytics – intermediate or Higher
UX best practices – intermediate or higher
WordPress Platform – intermediate-to-advanced or higher
Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator – intermediate or higher
WooCommerce or other ecommerce experience – a plus
SVG animation – a plus
2+ years experience in web and digital project development An online portfolio featuring samples of prior work Prior experience with a creative agency is a plus
