Summary
The Principal Product Manager will be the product owner and champion for Vantiv's core products and solutions developed for Enterprise merchants. As the go-to person for core products he/she will work closely with Marketing, Account Management, Engineering, Operations and other relevant areas to design, develop and manage activities for a group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. This position works closely with Sales and Relationship Management teams to support core products, including participation and presentations at meetings with merchants, partners, and industry thought leaders. Ultimately, the guiding light for every Product Manager is to deliver measurable value to our merchants in helping grow their business (increase revenue, decrease cost, mitigate risk), while at the same time driving value for Vantiv!
Responsibilities
Develop long-term product roadmaps, focusing on merchants, competition, product life cycle, and operational considerations. Provides cross functional leadership and coordinates the activities of all areas necessary to bring the product to market, including assisting in the development of financial and operating plans, profit and loss projections, and monitoring financial and operational performance against the plan. The individual must have strong communications skills, a background in Product Management, Project Management and/or Project Planning and a good understanding of the principles of Agile methodology. * Own roadmap and strategy for core products and solutions; drive the solution set through conception, planning, development, release, early adoption, iterative enhancement and market penetration. * Working as the product owner with one or more agile development teams, set development priorities and translate product inputs into well-defined requirements for each development iteration. * Develop business cases as needed to advocate for new product investments. * Organize cross-functional teams to ensure timely communication and operational readiness to implement services, deliver on promised value, and achieve revenue goals. * Drive product adoption with our merchants across the various Vantiv lines of business / channels, being the "CEO of the Product" and doing what it takes to achieve / over-achieve your product metrics (adoption, product revenue, etc). * Works well in a cross functional setting, acting as a leader of cross functional teams, managing product plans, priorities, and roadmaps, communicating the impact of product decisions to all stakeholders. * Manages product life cycle for assigned products from inception to sunset. * Monitors industry trends related to the respective products, participate in relevant conferences, and in general be an industry expert. * Documents products, features, and enhancements and works with product marketing and other functions to produce internal and external facing product collaterals. * Deliver training to internal stakeholders and populate and maintain product reference materials for co-worker self-service on product questions. * Works with industry and network compliance teams in ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met. * Develops the components of pricing and recommends the pricing guidelines. Assists Sales in pricing proposals. Research competitor practices and pricing, ensuring that Vantiv products are competitive in features and pricing.
Ideal Candidate
* Around 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and Master's degree * Product management, project management or product engineering experience * Highly skilled written and verbal communicator, comfortable addressing and educating groups of internal stakeholders and external customers * Prior experience coordinating product creation and realization in a complex, enterprise-scale environment * Experience with Agile product development methodologies * A good understanding of Payment industry and related products and services a plus * Retail background a plus
