Summary
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Production Manager position at the Gateway Galvanizing Plant. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will supervise, train, motivate, and mentor approximately 20-40 production employees within the Galvanizing facility
Responsibilities
* Implement and assign work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and equipment * Defines expected production standards and monitors performance standards of assigned personnel * Observe assigned personnel to ensure the proper operation of assigned equipment * Ensure inspection checks and quality assurance are occurring to produce high quality products * Promote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages suggestions for operational improvement * Administer and support company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner * Train new employees about divisional and organizational activities and safety policies and procedures * Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations as specified by corporate policy and government regulation
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications** * Associate’s Degree from a tech school or two years of college * Two years of experience in a supervisory or management position * The ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety * The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals * The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues * Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results **Highly qualified candidates will also possess:** * Five years of experience in a supervisory or management position * A proven record of supervisory experience and must have strong leadership * Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives * The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner * The ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions and percentages, and product dimensions * A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook * Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
