Summary

UOVO is a dynamic and rapidly growing art storage and services company that is redefining the art services market and setting a new standard for art stewardship. With an exceptional staff of specialists already in place the Controller has the opportunity to play a pivotal role within UOVO. The Controller will have a dual report line to UOVO’s CFO and to UOVO’s EVP of Business Management.

Responsibilities

Maximize UOVO’s financial and operational performance by supervising, recording and maintaining its financial records.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Direct oversight and execution of all finance, accounting and reporting activities
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Clearly communicate on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis financial statements; monitor progress and changes and ensuring senior leadership is kept abreast of UOVO’s financial status
  • Work directly with heads of departments to assist with establishing and reviewing monthly P&Ls for distinct work areas
  • In conjunction with the CFO & EVP of Business Management prepare annual budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data as well as making recommendations
  • Prepare and send invoices to customers and record all of the information in relevant databases
  • Process all incoming and outgoing payments, including AP and AR
  • Create monthly customer statements to track AR balances
  • Contact customers with past-due invoices to facilitate timely payment
  • Assist in HR administration:
    • Run and monitor payments to salaried and hourly employees, reconcile and pay internal leasing commissions and reimburse employee expense reports
    • Administer background, credit and drug testing programs
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements as well as handle wire transfers
  • Maintain paper and electronic files for the department
  • Support Account Management team for client requests and billing cycle
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA license is preferred but not required
  • 6-8 years of accounting and finance experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Expert level excel user, comfortable learning and using new technology
