Responsibilities
Programs and Services Marketing - Work with the Communications team and various museum departments (Exhibits, Public Programs, Collections, Education, Facilities Rentals, etc.) to implement marketing strategies for key programs, services and products that enhance community participation in museum activities and contribute to the museum's fee-for- service income. - Assist Managers with writing, editing and distributing digital and print marketing materials - Assist with production of e-marketing materials and e-newsletters from various divisions within the museum - Help schedule and coordinate marketing/e-marketing calendars and timelines - Assist the Digital Communications Manager with planning, publishing and tracking social media content and advertisements - Assist the Digital Communications Manager with planning, publishing and tracking marketing-related content on the website - Coordinate Burke listings in tourism brochures and tourism marketing campaigns - Attend meetings as communications team representative - Assist with press conferences and other media events as needed Program Support - Attend key museum programs and events, collect marketing surveys from visitors, post photos to social media, when applicable - Take photos at public programs/events for future promotional use as needed Advertising - Under supervision of Managers execute and design advertisements for publicity of museum exhibits and programs. - Assist Public Relations & Marketing Manager with planning and budgeting across all advertising platforms for the museum - Coordinate advertising placements - Research and experiment with various advertising tools to reach the museum’s key audiences - Design ads as needed - Track and report advertising results
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor of Arts' Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field; additional full-time writing/editing experience may substitute year-for-year for educational requirement. - Ability to work occasional (approx. 1/month) weekend or evening hours for special events and programs - 2 years’ experience with creating/coordinating advertising, marketing and social media plans. - 2 years of graphic design experience, must be proficient in Adobe Design tools (Photoshop, InDesign)
