Visual Designer

The Visual Designer role is responsible for creating engaging marketing communications experiences for a B2B audience. This role works with the marketing communications team to develop marketing campaigns, client outreach materials, presentations, event collateral, and responsive website designs. The Visual Designer leads and/or participates within collaborative teams and is committed to shared leadership and decision making. This individual is a member of the Marketing Communications team and must be familiar with (or committed to learning) marketing concepts and user-centered design practices. The ideal candidate will be able to work with many stakeholders in a collaborative environment and manage multiple projects.

* Explores and conceptualizes cross-channel solutions: web, tradeshow, presentation, video, and print. * Develops the visual components and lays out content for content marketing materials such as infographics, eBooks, and white papers. * Develops concepts and assets for tradeshow and communication campaigns. * Oversees the production of printed materials, including final layout, photography or artwork, preparation of mechanicals, and checking mechanicals and printer proofs. * Actively participates in the video creation process, including storyboarding, asset development, and monitoring pre-production, production, and post-production phases. * Develops concepts and assets for responsive websites—healthwise.org, client portal and developer portal. * Develops presentations for PowerPoint, Visio, Prezi. * Develops brand templates for organizational use. * Manages ongoing relationships with vendors (such as printers) and occasional freelancers (photographers, illustrators, specialty designers). * Leads and participates in discovery, ideation, review, and feedback sessions. * Collaborates with Communications Manager and Visual Design Manager on maintaining and evangelizing brand standards. * Builds strong, collaborative relationships with marketing, user experience, and sales teams. * Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

* A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a design-related field. * 4 years or more of experience working in a design capacity, plus a portfolio that reflects: * Solid concept development-related marketing communications and/or product design. * Tradeshow creative experience (conference campaigns, booth creatives). * Experience working on presentation design for decision makers, and knowledge of designing for presentation technologies (PowerPoint, Prezi, or related). * Digital design experience. Responsive design and video experience are pluses. * Print solutions for marketing communication. * Deep understanding of layout, typography, and design principles. * Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and presentation technologies. * Working knowledge of how to develop CSS-friendly design solutions. * Service-focused mindset, love of communication and solution seeking, and listening skills. * Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, managing work and professional relationships, and interpersonal communication. * Experience with project management software a plus. * Appreciation of the Healthwise mission to help people make better health decisions. * All offers are contingent on the completion of a background check.
