Responsibilities

The Social Media Specialist will develop, plan, and execute the social media vision and strategy for the company and 2-4 of its clients' brands (video game industry). Working under the direction of the Social Media Manager, this individual is responsible for executing all aspects of social content and community management with the goals of building sustainable online communities, increasing brand awareness, attracting new customers and deepening customer engagement.

Planning & Execution

  • Support all social media platforms including development, maintenance and circulation of the social media editorial calendars across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (with potential to expand to other platforms)
  • Focus efforts on Facebook: work with client to develop day-to-day content, make publishing cadence recommendations, manage postings and community management, support social media manager in growth strategy, oversee execution of giveaways and sweepstakes, and coordinate with global regions to cadence client's global directives
  • Execute a social strategy across earned, owned, and paid social media to drive increased customer engagement, brand advocacy and community expansion.
  • Execute social community management - post, design, moderate and edit daily posts and images, implement promotions and engagement campaigns, and conduct proactive and reactive outreach to communities on all platforms.
  • Work cross-functionally with agency and client teams to plan and execute strategic and synergistic social media initiatives. Ensure consistency, relevancy, and accuracy across all messaging.
  • Conduct monthly content brainstorms with cross-functional partners to generate content ideas that support the social strategy and overall business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with PR to identify content opportunities (both planned and in real-time) among streamers, LAN party organizers, Redditors and media sources in the video gaming, PC and console accessories, and gaming lifestyle categories.
  • Coordinate the creation and execution of all creative assets working with both the internal creative team and the client's creative group.
  • Collaborate with the client's Customer Care teams that are cross-trained in customer service for our social channels supporting time-sensitive needs and identifying opportunities for proactive outreach.
  • Manage social media paid campaigns in applicable touch points.

Analytics & Measurement

  • Actively monitor social media accounts and track engagement metrics to measure success of campaigns and identify opportunities.
  • Analyze weekly social media programs identifying opportunities to optimize efforts to yield more engagement and reach.
  • Analyze competitor activity on a monthly basis to provide applicable learnings that will improve the social strategy.
  • Provide weekly reporting to highlight community growth, top performing content and brand health across all social touch-points.
  • Collect and analyze metrics and work with internal creative team to produce quarterly infographic reports for client

Growth & Expansion

  • Monitor trends social media channels; appropriately apply that knowledge to increase the effectiveness of social media efforts.
  • Provide updates on social media platform functionality.
  • Monitor emerging social media touchpoints that are brand relevant.
  • Target high-profile gamers, celebrities and athletes who will help drive awareness and expand the reach of the client's brand
Ideal Candidate

MUST HAVES . . .

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in social media related field
  • Passionate knowledge of video game culture and trends

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Ideal candidate would have worked for a video game hardware or software brand or digital media agency
  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in marketing and communications
  • Proven history of social media marketing success within previous organizations
  • Experience developing promotions that drive membership, opt-in or purchase

  • Passion for understanding video game culture and communities; ability to spot and leverage pop-culture and emerging trends that matter to our client's brand and consumer; skillful at storytelling
