Summary
TRC, a national engineering, consulting and construction management firm providing integrated services to the energy, environmental and infrastructure markets is currently looking for a talented, seasoned **Office practice leader/Operations Manager/Sr. Project Director - Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene practice**. The position requires a strong technical, financial, business development and management background and a solid reputation of building and maintaining key client relationships. The position is a full-time position and will be located in the **San Francisco, CA office** and reports to the Building Sciences West Region practice leader. **Background** * Project Director with a consulting/engineering firm who has exceptional technical and financial project oversight experience in building science and industrial hygiene, safety, environmental site assessments, air monitoring, remedial plan development and implementation, and experience negotiating with regulatory agencies. * Business Manager - Experience in directing managing, developing and growing an environmental consulting organizations operating unit focusing on Building Sciences related offerings servicing public, industrial and private clients. * Business Development success in a Seller/Doer environmental consulting services business model. * Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
* Identify and develop new business opportunities, and delivery of responsive, high quality building sciences and industrial hygiene services. * Direct, manage and monitor multiple project budgets, scopes and schedules. * Lead an operating unit including ensuring technical staff assignments are optimized for maximum utilization and profit. * Lead and mentor project managers on strategic pursuits including proposal development and client meetings and help maintain strong relationships with key planning leaders and other members in the TRC Environmental Sector. * Quality Analysis/Quality Control of key deliverables related to projects and tasks managed as well as projects and tasks managed by others. Responsible for implementation of the firms' quality procedures at project and task levels. * Evaluate current reporting practices and procedures and enhance to ensure quality and consistent delivery of materials. Preparation of technical documents and reports. * Pinpoint and market new clients within the greater Seattle area. * Hire, supervise, and direct other engineers and environmental staff. * Review RFQs and prepare proposals. * Maintain a current book of business along with a billable utilization target. * Work to cross-sell TRC services and increase business from accounts under management. * Required Skills:
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field of study at a minimum. Professional licenses (i.e. PE) or certifications (CIH, CSP, CHMM, etc.) preferred. * Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience leading project teams, demonstrated success in business development and marketing to new and existing clients, and managing technical staff under a Seller/Doer business model. * Profit and Loss responsibilities for an operating unit. * Technical Direction and financial management of large scale projects providing environmental services, asbestos, lead, PCBs, mold, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, safety and hazardous materials experience with a consulting/engineering firm in the San Francisco market place. * Project Director or Vice President with consulting/engineering firm. * Project experience with the public and private sectors including but not limited to utilities, academic institutions, real-estate owners/management firms, transportation, petrochemical, medical and pharmaceuticals. * Excellent communication skills, presentation, oral and written. **EOE/Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled**
