Summary
Plans at an operational level and manages the effective use of resources to implement a medium sized or multiple smaller assigned projects
Responsibilities
* Participate in Business requirements analysis * Participate in all phases of project life cycle * Participates in high level and detail design session for projects * Responsible for successful development and delivery of data warehousing projects involving ETL, Database, Reporting and Unix scripting components * Drive strong collaborative partnerships between business, IT, and enterprise technology teams in the following areas * Quality, Testing and Excellence: Drive solution quality through appropriate unit testing execution, and support for test planning and case creation, integrated system testing, release management, and production turnover and warranty support.
Ideal Candidate
* Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience or a masters degree with 3 years of over all experience in designing and developing end to end data warehousing solutions. * Core Technical Requirements (Abinitio) * Should have strong knowledge in Ab Initio Co>Operating system, EME, Conduct>It, Continuous flows, Data Profiler, BRE , ACE, Meta programming, Metadata Hub, Elementum, Operational Console, Key Server, etc * Should have experience in Ab Initio Environment set up (User & application Security Setup, Project/Sandbox setup, etc) and to perform application audits and assessments, capacity management, disaster recovery management. * Should have experience in Ab Initio migration projects and other Ab Initio environment related installation/upgrades (Co>op, GDE, EME, Database client, etc). * Should have strong knowledge in optimization and provide setup monitoring/alerts for jobs/processes, ETL performance testing, troubleshooting environmental issues, etc * Should have experience in process automation, log analytics and strong knowledge in UNIX/Windows environment with various scripting languages such as UNIX Shell scripts, VB macros, python, etc * Should have experience in EME branching/cleanup, shutdown and start up activities, version control tool (Subversion) and Ab Initio code deployments to various environments * Should have strong knowledge on Connect direct, NAS setup, MVS connectivity, job schedulers, Continuous flow interface setup and debugging, MQ, Database utilities associated with Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, IMS, Red brick, etc * Should have experience in Planning, defining, designing and managing Data Integration standards, principles, guidelines, frameworks, knowledge management, etc * Experience in advanced components of abinitio including Scans, Rollups, Normalize, Multi update table. * Experience in delivering batch and continuous flow applications using abinitio product * Experience in processing XML, mainframe and SAS data sets in abinitio. * Experience in delivering web services applications using abinitio product suite. * Experience in advanced concepts of abinitio including PDL, conditional DML, Meta programming, common components architecture and dealing with Vector data formats * Experience in data profiling activities leveraging abinitio data profiler product. * Experience in leveraging abinitio EME for configuration management, dependency analysis, impact analysis and branching activities. * Proficiency with data modeling * Thorough understanding of relational databases, ROLAP and MOLAP concepts * Proficiency in working with Oracle, SQL Server and Teradata databases ,database modeling, data warehouses, data profiling, ability to write/interpret SQL statements * Proficiency in writing SQL, procedures, functions and triggers * Proficiency in optimizing sql and tuning business intelligence applications * Proficiency in Unix/Linux , Windows operating systems and in scripting languages (Shell scripting and Windows batch scripting). * Experience in at least one of the job scheduling and automation tools ( Autosys, Control-M, Unix-Crontab, Tivoli) * Experience in at least one of the configuration management tools (Rational Suite, VSS, Abinitio EME, PVCS,CVS, SCCS) * Certification in Teradata (V2R6 or above) in SQl and Physical Implementation is a must and any other Teradata certifications are a Plus * Experience in implementing Teradata Macros, Procedures and Functions * Experience in writing optimized SQL and experience in SQL tuning * Experience in utilizing various Teradata utilities ( Fastload, Mload, Fast Export, BTEQ, Tpump) * Experience and Knowledge with various indexing schemes and materialized views * Core Technical Requirements (Hadoop) * Experience in delivering Hadoop solution in conjunction with RDBMS **Technical Knowledge** Has master level knowledge of multiple programming disciplines and a thorough understanding of the business that the assigned projects are supporting. Uses this understanding of the business and systems environment to develop appropriate and timely solutions to daily issues.
