Responsibilities

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

  • Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data utilizing payroll software, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Initiate ACH files thru bank?s online banking system.
  • Process payroll checks and direct deposit paystubs.
  • Reconcile and submit all applicable payroll taxes, prepare reports to various federal and state agencies, including 941 deposits and returns, unemployment returns, W2 & W3 preparation and reporting.
  • Reconcile weekly and monthly benefit invoices to employee deductions work with Human Resources to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare various journal entries and accruals.
  • Reconcile all payroll liability accounts.
  • Maintain employee records in the payroll software.
  • Maintain payroll software and install updates received from vendor. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year end reports for management.
  • Balance paid time off records for all non-exempt and exempt staff.
  • Serve as a backup to the Accounts Payable Coordinator.
  • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be exceptionally detail oriented and accurate.

  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must maintain above-average attendance standards.
  • Must be proficient in Excel.

Experience:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting and minimum 2 years payroll experience required.
  • General Ledger experience required.
  • Current knowledge of applicable federal and state wage and hour laws required.
  • Accounts Payable experience preferred.
  • AS400 experience preferred.

Skills:

  • 10-key experience a must.
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently.
  • High level of confidence in decision making.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Able to meet strict deadlines.
