Summary
Timken Gears and Services Philadelphia Gear brand is seeking a Sales Territory Account Specialist to cover military aftermarket opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic area of the Northeast. Looking for a self-starting, highly motivated individual that is results oriented with the drive to succeed both individually and as part of a team, with an ability to maintain and also grow the territory. Key customers include the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, with locations in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Norfolk Virginia. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast Region.
Responsibilities
* Directs the efforts of a sales team of approximately 6 people to assure territory sales objectives are met and customer relationships are maintained and inquiries are handled in a professional, efficient and timely manner. * Be responsible for meeting annual company objectives for sales and profitability within the region. * Maintain existing sales and services, while implementing strategy and tactics to assure market growth in a territory currently selling $12M annually. * Display entrepreneurial spirit and ability to quickly adjust to changing market conditions and handle a multitude of tasks that need to be accomplished. Possess high energy level and ability to deal with high stress situations. * Support RSM in rendering and documenting disciplinary action as needed. * Ability to manage time and priorities for maximum efficiency with available resources. * General knowledge of Power Transmission products and services * Ability to coordinate efforts across multiple site/regions. * Demonstrated ability to perform as part of a team, while at the same time have the ability to take charge and work independently when required. * Monitor and be held accountable for sales performance of the District. Takes corrective action as needed or directed.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will live in the Maryland, Virginia, Washinton, D.C. area, have 10+ years mechanical experience, particularly in the area of gearbox repair, and served prior in the U.S. Navy or Coast Guard. This opportunity is home based when not on the road, with expected travel to be 50%+ of the time on average. Key attributes include the ability to multi-task, set priorities, meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and organization, set goals, ability to work as part of a team and the ability to interact with all levels of customers and internal support teams. Excellent computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office software) and strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Applicant must have 10+ years of mechanical and/or electrical experience, gearbox repair and/or motor repair experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, engineering, business or manufacturing from an accredited college or university preferred.
