Electro-Mechanical Technician

The Electro-Mechanical Technician uses electrical, mechanical, and trouble-shooting skills to support all aspects of manufacturing, maintenance and engineering functions. As an integral member of the maintenance team, this position will actively participate in the continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility including reducing downtime, increasing throughput and improving quality on all processes.

* Follow all company safety rules in performing job duties. * Reviews MP-2 Orders to determine work priorities after distribution. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations and meet production deadlines. Confers with superintendents and supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. * Repair, troubleshoot and maintain production machinery, systems and equipment throughout the facility. This includes PLC’s & HMI’s. * Performs electrical repairs such as replacing fuses, installing sensors, and testing circuits on electrical equipment. * Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on equipment according to guidelines. * Maintain and rebuild individual system components such as valves, pumps, motors, and conveyors using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments. * Repairs, maintains, replaces, installs and diagnoses defects and malfunctions in HVAC, water, wastewater, drainage systems, and facilities throughout plant and office areas. Repairs and installs pipes, joints, fixtures and fittings – has the ability to thread pipe, solder, etc. * Assist in installing both mechanical and electrical systems as directed by Project lead. These could include connecting inputs and outputs to PLC, installing and connecting pneumatic control systems, and fabricating special parts. Has some metal cutting and welding capability or the ability to learn. * Correctly completes paperwork associated with tasks, work orders, tagging equipment in/out of service, etc. * Properly inspects and tests all finished work. Cleans area and conforms to all GMP requirements. * Assists with the development of preventative maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff. * Suggests new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. * Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with project lead. * Maintains contacts with vendors to requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations. * Completes other duties as assigned by other members of management.

**Equipment Knowledge:** Must be proficient with maintaining the equipment below: * Agglomerators * Air Handler Units * Allen Bradley PLCs & HMIs * Bag Houses/Dust Collectors * Gearboxes * Hoppers * Hot Water Heaters * Mixers * Motors * Packaging Equipment * Pneumatics * Ribbon Blenders * Robotics * Rotary Valves * Spray Dryer * Tanks * Vacuum Systems * Welders * Wet & Dry Conveying **Education And/Or Experience:** 5 plus years related experience in high speed manufacturing maintenance environment. AA degree a plus. **Other Skills And Abilities:** Must be able: * To work without close supervision * Obtain a forklift license * Computer literate with Microsoft Office software and Rockwell Automation. * Able to read and interpret architectural blueprints, electrical diagrams, ladder diagrams, and mechanical drawings. * May required to be called in to repair equipment, when scheduled, day or night.
