Manager - Internal Communications

The Manager – Internal Communications responsible for building effective employee communications to enhance our culture, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. The Nerdery is a fast growing - innovative company where change is the norm you'll lead us toward effectively communicating business decisions and strategies, leading through change at a rapid pace. This role will play a key part in fostering a fun, high-performing culture, and create internal communications that reflect our vision, values, and purpose.
- Internal Communication
- Develop and execute multi-channel communication strategies.
- Manage the interpretation, development and implementation of internal communications in support The Nerdery’s business plans and strategic objectives to ensure employee understanding and engagement.
- Manage updates, maintenance and continuous improvement of existing internal communication channels such as website, employee forums, employee events, emails and newsletters.
- Execute on a steady cadence of internal communication initiatives enhancing the Nerdery culture.
- Successfully manages complex, fast-moving and unexpected internal communication challenges.
- Provide expert internal communications counsel to diverse groups and senior leaders within the organization.
- Manage and support crisis communications as needed.
- Help create a culture high-performing people want to be a part of through fun, effective and meaningful communication programs.
- Collaborate closely with Public Relations to ensure consistent messaging internally and externally.
- Ensure the internal communication strategy helps The Nerdery achieve our vision of becoming the best place in the world for Nerds to work.
- Management
- Ability to supervise staff and make personnel decisions.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, project management, time management and consensus-building skills
- Ability to evaluate employee performance and ensure employees are set up for success.
- People-leader experience including performance management, development, annual reviews, and coaching
- Ability to build strong relationships internally at all levels of the organization
