Summary
Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Leader North America Communications, Vision Care, located in Jacksonville, Florida. Responsible for North America Communications, both internally and externally, for JJVC’s largest market. This includes branded public relations campaigns, media relations, issues management, reputation /stakeholder development and employee engagement. Provides senior strategic counsel to the Regional President. Serve as member of the North America Leadership Team helping to steer business and sell-in communication programs that will drive business results. Work closely with the WW JJVC Communications Team and partner with the JJVC North America marketing colleagues develop and implement integrated, multi-stakeholder communication and public relations programs to drive business objectives and enhance the company’s reputation.
Responsibilities
* Working with WW JJVC Communications Director and N. America business leaders to define and execute regional public relations strategy for JJVC’s largest market. * Liaison with the WW JJVC Communications Team as well as with Enterprise Media Relations Centers of Excellence to formulate holistic media relations plan with an emphasis on strong presence at key eye care congresses in the US. * Manage major communication and public affairs issues that impact N. America and have a direct impact on JJVC and J&J corporate reputation driving media relations and close coordination and consistent messaging across the region. * Drive positive news stories to enhance brand and enterprise reputation in N. America in collaboration with WW JJVC Communications Team and Global Media & Issues Management Leader. * Develop internal communications strategy aligned to business priorities to elevate the visibility of the N. America Regional President and his entire Leadership team within the organization, align employees to the strategy, and deepen employee engagement. * Provide strategic internal communications counsel and support of key N. America events (i.e. National Training Meeting(s), Town Halls, etc.) * Manage regional agency and/or consultants and assigned budget * Serve as a key liaison with senior business leaders in N. America on issues critical to their businesses. * Develop partnerships with N. America marketing teams to drive relevant positioning and conversations with consumers and other external stakeholders. * Collaborate with a range of appropriate functions (e.g., legal, marketing, professional, R&D, etc.) as a way to drive and influence science-based programs to support business objectives and drive reputation. * Develop partnerships with third party organizations and professionals (e.g., NGOs) as needed * Collaborate with Brand Public Relations and Sector (both Consumer and Medical Device) public relations colleagues as it relates to larger sector-wide communications opportunities with external stakeholders * Protect and enhance the reputation and equity of Johnson & Johnson through strategic media relations and issues management programs in partnership with cross-sector and cross-functional Enterprise teams.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree is required. * Experience and functional competencies: * Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in communication with a focus on branded PR campaigns, media relations, issues management, and employee engagement. * Experience working in highly regulated environment and a demonstrated understanding of the US FDA; experience in the medical device arena preferred. * Experience in delivering measurable business outcomes for both professional- and consumer-facing PR programs. * Experience managing large-scale ($1MM +) branded PR campaigns is required * Experience working in a matrix environment and driving results through influence * Demonstrates expert judgment in launching new products and is sought after as an expert is required. * Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and matrix environment * Demonstrated ability to oversee agency partners . * Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous situations * Domestic travel up to 10% * Live Our Credo – Demonstrates and inspires the behaviors that reinforce Our Credo * Connect – Cultivates meaningful external relationships and partnerships outside of J&J, adding value and insights for the enterprise; insight-driven to proactively uncover critical unmet needs and turn them into new opportunities. * Shape – Translates insights into innovative and viable products or solutions, creating value; challenges the status quo and leads change management activities, creating positive change; takes and properly manages risks, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance, contributing to value creation * Lead - Takes ownership for talent acquisition, performance and development in a way that enhances the performance and development of self and others; maximizes and leverages diverse perspectives, backgrounds and talent to generate innovative ideas or solutions to address organizational challenges; engages in and encourages others to have transparent and constructive conversations and encourages others, contributing to a high-performing organization * Deliver - empowers people to act with speed, agility, and accountability, enabling them to achieve organizational goals and strategies; makes decisions and takes actions based on a global and enterprise-wide mindset that adds value across the enterprise; balances short- and long-term strategic choices, positions the organization to achieve both short-term and expected future results
