Responsibilities
* Responsible for managing the team of architects who create/update infrastructure strategy, target architectures and road maps. * Works with the IT organization and Business Technology Organization (BTO) to understand business requirements for performance and improvements that ensure the existing and future information systems are implemented according to the organization’s goals, needs and objectives. * Responsible for managing the database administrators who perform operational DBA tasks in the pre-production environment and oversee the management of the production databases. Also manages the DBA team who are responsible for data management and database architecture strategy, target architecture and roadmap. * Establishes/updates the organization’s infrastructure structure, refines and defines essential design features, uses the enterprise architecture framework currently in place and improves it. * Responsible for participating and leading in a variety of activities, including: assessing/refining current strategies, target architectures and roadmaps; defining/aligning business and technology requirements to implement the strategies, target architectures and roadmaps, solving/addressing current operational concerns focusing on long-term strategy solutions against Total Cost of Ownership; managing team members who assess server storage and infrastructure sizing, analyze hardware sizing to meet application requirements, and design load balancing and clustering solutions according to architecture standards. * Required to prepare architectural design documentation. * Typically oversees creating and implementing strategic direction, and standards as they relate to IT infrastructure & enterprise architecture. * Collaborates with staff, users and senior management on reviewing new and existing IT projects, systems designs and plans, and conducts research on emerging technologies to support changes in infrastructure aligned with the strategies, target architectures and roadmaps.
Ideal Candidate
Job Skills and Requirements: •A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. •8 - 10 years of relevant industry experience. •Architecture and solution design experience required. • Must have VOIP experience and knowledge. •Experience preparing and facilitating technology/architecture brainstorming sessions. •Knowledge of key architecture governance models, underlying tools and supporting processes (e.g. architecture approval, architecture change control, architecture's role in project and standards oversight. •Experience participating in all aspects of large-scale enterprise architecture projects including ideation, identification, planning and cost estimation through requirements, design, development, testing, implementation and production. •Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. •Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment. •Eagerness to mentor junior staff. •Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
