Director of DevOps

• Create and execute technical operations strategy, enabling company to meet world-class ecommerce customer experience demands

• Manage vendor relationships and budget for third party hosting services

• Establish company goals and metrics for systems stability and performance, and build measurement reports and communicate metrics to key stakeholders

• Configure systems for development, test and production of a scalable consumer and e-commerce Internet website

• Monitor and tune systems stability, capacity and performance

• Troubleshoot system issues as necessary

• Ensure system and network security

• Partner with development team in supporting new features and services

• Manage a team of system operations experts

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science; Master’s Degree, a plus

• 5 to 8 years of experience building software in roles of increasing responsibility and technical capability

• Minimum two years of experience managing a team of 3+ engineers

• Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner

• Expert level Linux administration and tuning experience

• Familiarity with the AWS suite of services is a plus

• Hands on with configuration management - the particular system is not important, but we use Puppet

• Experience with capacity planning for holiday-peaks, availability analysis, load testing and corresponding risk-mitigation strategies

• Ability to learn quickly and multi-task

• Excellent communication skills
