Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain the server farms and voice/messaging infrastructure. - Manage the redundancy and failover systems. - Provide regular status updates on projects, including progress updates and identification of technical risks and issues associated with them. - Provide technical guidance and training to other staff members within the organization. - Tune and monitor application and operating system performance. - Maintain the security and integrity of the network and systems. - Support production systems, analyze problems, and configure systems within the distributed computing environment.
Ideal Candidate
- Extensive experience building and supporting mission-critical server farms in 24X7 environment. - 8+ years designing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with Linux server farms including application, firewall and routing issues. - 5+ years supporting multi-tier Internet application platforms, especially service-oriented architecture. - 5+ years experience building and supporting VMware systems. - Experience building and supporting Microsoft Windows Server systems. - Significant experience with VOIP including Asterisk, SIP including tuning and troubleshooting. - Thorough understanding of VLANs, IPSec, LAN/WAN routing, NAT/PAT, firewalls, fail-over is required. - Extensive experience working with automation tools such as Puppet or Chef, certification preferred. - Experience with telecom SMS messaging protocols is a plus. - Deep knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB desired. - Expert in datacenter (storage & compute) resource allocation, planning, sizing and optimizing. - Ability to work with others well and participate on cross-technology teams. - Must be able to multitask, prioritize tasks, delegate task-level jobs to peers in the Systems Administration group, be a self-starter, quick learner and be extremely organized. - Ability to speak and write clear English in order to create concise but clear documentation. - Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills with ability to lead team meetings, gather requirements, and arrive at technical decisions. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
