We are currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support two Montana Manufacturing plants. The HR Generalist will manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office through administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. They will carry out the responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, departmental development, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development and employment.
Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. - Assists operations supervisors in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting employees to fill vacant positions. - Plans and conducts new employee orientation (including pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and physical) to foster positive attitude toward company goals. - Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance review, terminations and employee statistics. - Advises supervisors in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. - Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedure and programs. - Administers the non-exempt performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the organization. - Investigates accidents, prepares reports for insurance carrier and maintain OSHA logs. - Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. - Maintain necessary personnel documentation for employee files to include wages, performance reviews, disciplinary action, etc. - Act as Lubrizol’s advocate in representing the interests of the employees and, as a liaison, balancing the needs of individual employees, human capital as a whole and the company’s vision to align all three. - Build and maintain highly effective working relationships and positively influence others. - Other duties as assigned. - Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity. - Assists in coordination of company-sponsored events (holiday party, picnic, United Way, employee recognition, flu shots, wellness screenings, quarterly incentive programs, etc) - Active participant on the safety committee, first aid responder, etc. - Assist in developing and conducting various training needs.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum Associates degree in Human Resources or related field. Completion of four years of college with a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in either Human Resources Management or Business Administration is preferred. - 5+ years of HR experience, or any combination of education and HR experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. - Minimum two years of recruiting experience. - Demonstrated knowledge of employment regulations, compensation and benefits, training and development and organizational planning. - Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, executive and other employees of the organization. - Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. - Working knowledge of worker’s compensation and familiarity with OSHA recording practices. - Experience in a manufacturing environment with significant exposure to a fast-paced environment OR experience supporting hourly employees (medical device, Pharma, or Food Industry manufacturing background preferred) - Professional Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) Certification (preferred) - Excellent (written and verbal) communication and effective human interaction skills. - Flexible to change, and possess a high degree level of integrity and “can do attitude”. - Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. - Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner. - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as overtime, proportions and percentages. Ability concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
