Summary
The Staff Accountant performs various accounting and business services that support the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and analysis to enable senior and line management to make appropriate business decisions and achieve Accounting departmental goals.
Responsibilities
* Assists the Sr. Manager in preparing regulatory filings for statutory accounting clients. * Records and reconciles investments. * Performs full-cycle accounting in accordance with GAAP/STAT to include preparation and appropriate documentation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, preparation of sub-ledgers that tie to trial balance accounts. * Ensures all compliance requirements involving the essential functions of the job are met. * Establishes and maintains effective professional working relationship with co-workers and every level of management. * Supports and assists on special projects when needed.

P&C industry accounting experience preferred. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and Internet browser applications.
