Summary
The Institutional Planning & Analysis department is a growing team of high-performing associates with diverse backgrounds who serve as trusted partners to our sales, product, and operational departments and our executive leadership team. We empower our business partners and executive leadership team to deliver better business results by: * Measuring key performance indicators with accuracy by ensuring appropriate data stewardship * Framing and executing impactful and intelligent data analytics and translating results into actionable, understandable insights * Optimizing the client experience by deepening our understanding of our clients and proactively introducing clients to the solutions that best align with their needs * Identifying changes and trends within the wealth management and retirement industries and among competitors to determine implications for our business and plan for the future * Engaging in annual strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and Institutional-wide project prioritization and resource allocation * Developing high impact executive presentations on the Institutional business for our Board of Directors, Senior Operating Committee and internal associate groups * The Sales & Compensation Analyst II will join the Sales Analytics team to turn data into reporting and analytics and to uncover strategic insights. The deliverables will influence efforts of individual sales associates and the sales team as whole to deepen relationships with existing clients and engage in targeted prospecting to acquire new clients. The associate will also support sales incentive compensation reporting and analytics across the various roles in our sales organization.
Responsibilities
* Conduct advanced analytical efforts and modeling that require complex data extractions using SQL * Develop meaningful results reporting and metrics to drive day to day business performance management and sales incentive compensation payments * Consult with Sales partners to understand needs & objectives * Execute analytical studies to deliver corresponding solutions * Translate analytical findings into camera-ready summaries of actionable insights that tell a meaningful, understandable story to different audiences and stakeholders through the organization * Support the compensation process for the Institutional sales organization by managing recurring reporting, partnering with HR in plan design and target setting, and responding to ad hoc inquiries * Support internal consulting projects & strategic initiatives aimed at growing the Institutional business and/or improving efficiency by conducting data queries and contributing to presentation materials * Drive continuous reporting & analytics process improvement by proactively identifying automation opportunities and providing our Sales organization with on-demand access to key information
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus in finance, economics or quantitative disciplines * Minimum 2-3 years of analytical experience, preferably within the financial services/ brokerage industry or in support of a sales organization * Strong analytical skills with sharp attention to detail * Advanced technical proficiency with Excel * Willingness to learn and embrace technology to extract data, automate reports and build visual dashboards and tools (SQL and Tableau preferred) * Self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for managing and delivering on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment * Ability to toggle between deep data analytics and business partner/ senior management consultations * Collaborative spirit and service-oriented focus * Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to tell a story with data * Basic understanding of financial services industry * Military experience may be substituted in lieu of education and/or experience
