Summary
The analyst will provide financial and analytical support for the Production and Supply (P&S) finance service reporting function within Syngenta Business Services in support of 3rd party royalty payments and other COGS related financial obligations. Also, will assist with annual product costing and inventory coordination.
Responsibilities
* Royalties * Ensure management of Syngenta’s forecasting, reporting, and royalty payment compliance with its key third party license agreements. (Related to timely accurate payments) * Establish processes and documentation for compliance and audit procedures. * With Germplasm Legal & IP, and Portfolio Management, develop and manage Royalty Obligation Reporting for current year (CY), CY+1, and when possible CY+2, for key crops in North America * Facilitate the royalty forecast inputs for budget and LE * Remain current on key contract terms and conditions related to forecasting, reporting, and royalty payments with Crop Compliance Analysts and designated “legal responsible” * Notify and coordinate with Legal and Licensing team any suspected compliance discrepancies as required. * Coordinate with Global royalty obligation payments and accounting treatment * Hedging - Manage month-end reporting and compliance with latest accounting standards * Transfer Pricing Lead * Support US Crop Protection and Seeds annual transfer pricing calculation process which would include ensuring the standard cost and sales prices reflect the agreed transfer prices * Ensure Inter company purchase price variance accounts properly reflect only pricing differences * Product Costing – Assist with annual seeds product costing * Under minimal direction, performs complex cost accounting functions. * Utilizes Syngenta cost accounting principles and techniques to assist in obtaining, assembling, evaluating, interpreting, recording and analyzing financial data. * Prepares costing reports with associated financial analysis to budgets/estimates. * Accurate and timely standard cost setting, monitoring and analysis. * Accurate and timely physical inventory process, counts and reporting.
Ideal Candidate
**Critical knowledge:** * Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field * Minimum of 2 years experience in a cost accounting position * Proficient PC skills, particularly in Excel financial modeling and PowerPoint presentations. * SAP experience preferred **Critical experience:** * Solid knowledge of accounting policies and financial principles, including International Accounting Standards (IAS) * Budgeting/Planning/Forecasting. * Experience in standard costing within SAP or other large scale ERP system preferred **Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:** * Strong interpersonal and team work/building skills. * Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. * Ability to communicate concise and clear messages **Critical leadership capabilities:** * Self-directed * Organization Effectiveness – Develops networks across the organization * Performance Orientation – Understanding of key performance drivers
