Summary
Synapse is hiring a Director of Marketing who has a firmly established track record of delivering marketing initiatives that get results and a passion for building powerful brands in a fun, fast-paced, and highly collaborative team environment. And assumes accountability and ownership for overall brand strategy, marketing, and communications. Marketing team members reporting to the Director of Marketing include the Design and Marketing Manager and the Marketing Communications Specialist. The ideal person for this position will be a highly effective communicator and inspiring team leader who is equally excited about working on tasks as well as strategizing with a team.
Responsibilities
* Create and champion the brand positioning strategy of Synapse in collaboration with the leadership team and business development group to best reach the core target audience of the company and grow the brand globally. * Collaborate vigorously and seamlessly with the broader organization to leverage marketing resources, expertise, and scale to achieve non-traditional results across Synapse brand building and marketing initiatives. * Develop and manage strategic marketing tactics, across Synapse locations, focused on brand growth and awareness, yearly sales goals, client acquisition and retention, and recruitment opportunities through a structured marketing approach with defined accomplishments, industry and market analysis, client segmentation, and an understanding of media options while reaching yearly objectives. * Create and execute a yearly communication plan identifying and proposing public relations opportunities that support the Synapse brand, services, and business goals and successfully deliver information and key messages to the public and Synapse constituencies via the news media, company website, social media, and in-person events. * Provide inspiring, involved, and organized marketing team leadership with accountability for delivering critical initiatives, including: * Creating and executing a plan for elevating market awareness of Synapse as a thought leader in technology transfer and product development innovation. * Coordinating and leading yearly marketing events plan and calendar for trade show attendance, Synapse hosted events, and other industry and community events. * Producing Synapse collateral consistent with brand strategy and marketing and communications goals including digital asset creation and website management. * Working closely with program and business development managers to identify editorial, marketing, and communications opportunities with company clients, partners, and projects. * Executing the client facing look and feel of Synapse locations, and working with facilities and front office operations to realize the aesthetic and messaging goals of the department. * Developing company branded template materials, client facing presentations, and editorial and online content guidelines. * Capturing, analyzing, and disseminating client and partner feedback, online analytics, industry trends, and advertising metrics with the sales and leadership teams.
Ideal Candidate
* Proven ability to lead a marketing team, to organize and execute team tasks and workflow to achieve department objectives, and to work effectively across an organization in a highly collaborative environment. * Understanding of brand management, traditional and interactive marketing, and communications strategies and tactics in a professional services organization and culture driven environment. * Knowledge of how to manage media relations, research editorial opportunities, and build relationships with key industry media. * Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills. * Direct experience and understanding of working with Adobe Creative Suite. * Understanding of web-based technologies including HTML, CSS, Content Management Systems, Online Survey Development, and Social Media Management. * BS/BA degree, Masters preferred (Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations) or equivalent business and technical experience. * 8-12 years of combined marketing and marketing management experience are required, with preference given to experience and familiarity obtained in a professional services organization. * Some educational background or professional experience in a creative discipline or setting is preferred. * Experience with high tech product design and development is preferred.
